The future begins now. Later this year, when City Church opens the doors of our permanent home, it will mark a new beginning for us, a unique opportunity to reintroduce ourselves to the city we love and are dedicated to serving.
To prepare for this exciting moment, our first series of 2025 will focus on the early chapters of the book of Genesis, the Bible’s foundational book. These ancient stories will offer us the wisdom needed to lay a strong foundation for our future.
At the heart of this series is the famous story of the Tower of Babel–a cautionary tale of city dwellers whose ambition led to their downfall. Their grand building project was disrupted when God confused their language (the word “Babel” sounds like “confuse” in Hebrew) and scattered them across the earth. It’s a powerful reminder of the dangers of building our cities, our lives, and our churches, on our own terms rather than aligning with God’s purposes.
As we explore these early biblical narratives, we’ll uncover timeless lessons about how to build a future that honors God and helps others connect with him. In the process, we’ll learn a new language–one rooted in a vocabulary of grace–that will lead us out in life with humility and hope.
Join us, and bring a friend, each Sunday for the Language of Life series beginning January 12.
