Summer Camps & Classes

Throughout the summer, City Kids offers special camps and classes where kids can explore creativity, learn new skills, and build friendships in a fun, encouraging environment.

Theater Camp

July 20 – July 24

City Church is excited to host A.D. Players Emerging Artists Theater Camp, a week-long experience where kids explore acting, storytelling, and stage design through fun, game-based activities. Campers build confidence, work together, and finish the week with a showcase for family and friends.

Open to rising Kinder–8th graders.

Cooking Class

June 10 & July 18

From Scratch is a hands-on cooking class for rising Kinder–5th graders where kids prepare a simple meal together and enjoy it with friends. As they cook step by step, kids will also explore Philippians 1:6 and learn that God is continuing the good work He began in them.

Kids will cook, learn, and share the meal they made together.

City Kids Summer Movie Nights are for families of all ages—whether you’re part of City Church or new, you’re invited. Join us in the sanctuary for a relaxed, family-friendly movie night. Wear comfy clothes, bring a pillow, and enjoy snacks on us. No RSVP—just come!

Welcome + Check-In

We invite families who are checking their children into City Kids at either worship hour to enter the building through the City Kids Entrance (the easternmost entrance to Building 1 on 9th Street). From there, nursery-aged children (3 months–3 years) and PreK–Kindergarten children can be checked in and brought straight to their classrooms at both hours.

At the 9:30am service, 1st–5th graders will join their families in the main worship service for about 15 minutes before being dismissed to City Kids. At the 11:00am service (without an in-service kids’ dismissal), all City Kids can be checked in directly to their classrooms.

Full-Morning Programming

Adults with children of any age are invited to make use of City Kids programming for the full morning in order to worship, volunteer, attend a City Group, fellowship at the coffee shop, or participate in other on-campus activities. Children can be checked in for both hours at the beginning of the morning, and the City Kids team will ensure a safe transition for all children between services.

Additional Details
  • Check-In & Security: Each child needs to be checked-in using our electronic system every Sunday prior to attending the worship service. Once you check in, you and your child will be given matching identification tags that are exclusive to your family and your visit. Your child will need to wear his or her nametag, which bears a code matched to your security tag that is needed to pick up your child after service.
  • First Aid & Incident Reports: Minor injuries are treated with an ice pack and a Band-Aid. These are the only items we are allowed to dispense. Regardless of the type of injury or accident, volunteers will notify the City Kids Director and fill out an Incident Report.
  • Safety & Health Procedures: To ensure good health to everyone, children with colds, colored runny noses, fevers, rashes, or other symptons of illness are not permitted into the classroom.
  • You can inform the caregiver or teacher of any special instructions, feeding needs, potty training, etc. It is common for babies and kids to cry immediately after getting dropped off, but they usually calm down. We will text you if your child does not calm down within 15 minutes. Label all of your child’s belongings, including diaper bag, bottles, cups, etc. Only the parent of the child and female staff and volunteers are allowed to change diapers.
  • All toys and equipment are disinfected before and after every use.

For any questions, contact City Kids Director, Chelsey Omoregie.
