Witness to Wonder: John’s Advent Vision
by Leo Schuster • Lead Pastor
Christmas didn’t begin in the obscurity of a manger in Bethlehem, but in the mystery of cosmic origins. Our Advent messages this year will give special attention to the perspective of the Apostle John, who had a front-row seat to the life and teaching of Jesus. His writings about Advent help us appreciate its extraordinary breadth, stretching from eternity past to eternity future. We also find in his teaching what it means for us today that we live in between the two Advents of Christ. By living into this reality we can discover uncommon hope and fullness of joy in all of life.
Join us each Sunday of Advent–the four Sundays leading up to Christmas that anticipate the joy of Jesus’ birth—as we reflect on John’s Advent vision. Also, it’s my experience that people who aren’t used to going to church, who may or may not identify as Christian, are more open to visiting a church and exploring the ancient meaning of the season. Please reach out and invite people you know to join us each Sunday of Advent at 10:30 a.m. and for our special Christmas Eve Lessons and Carols service at 10:30 a.m. on December 24.
