Beyond Ourselves

Isn’t it refreshing to be around people whose lives don’t revolve around themselves – people who genuinely care about others and make sacrifices for their good? In contrast, isn’t self-absorption one of the most unattractive qualities? Powerful forces make it easy to live this way.

Our culture encourages us to organize life around ourselves—our success, comfort, security, and happiness. But the Bible offers a radically different vision of the good life. According to Jesus, true fulfillment isn’t found in accumulating more for ourselves, but in lives marked by generosity, hospitality, compassion, and love.

This Sunday, we begin a new series called Beyond Ourselves: The Freedom of a Generous Life.

We’ll explore generosity as something much bigger than giving money. It’s a way of life that shapes how we treat others and use our time, attention, opportunities, and influence. At the heart of Christianity is the belief in a generous God who gives himself to us in Jesus. As we experience that grace, we discover freedom from fear, the worry that we never have enough, and self-centeredness—opening the door to a richer, more joyful life.

Join us this Sunday, and consider inviting a friend!
