Witness

As we come to Christ, we (the church) are like living stones being built in various ways into a spiritual house, with Christ as the cornerstone. Peter invites all to reflect on our identities in the eyes of God, and to respond with praise and witness.

Advent signals comfort is on the way. Relief won’t ultimately come from others, who’s faithfulness is fragile like flowers of the field, but through God’s Word that endures forever. In his Word we can discover the glory of the Lord that alleviates our distress.

God gave Peter corrective lenses, of sorts, which corrected Peter’s understanding of God’s heart and plan for humanity, and the way Peter related with others. What kind of corrective lenses might God have in store for us today?
