Regularly I have two kinds of conversations with people attending City Church.
The first is with those who have come to church for the first time or are coming back to church. They don’t believe or aren’t sure what they believe. They may be spiritually indifferent, skeptical or suspicious of organized religion, but they’re there. If this describes you, you are a major reason we exist, and we’re really honored you’ve come to City Church. I want you to know we take your questions and concerns seriously. We want to be a place where you feel you can explore the possibility of faith freely and process your doubts and concerns without threat of judgment.
Why are people like this coming to City Church? Because people like you reach out and invite them. So, a great big thanks! I can’t tell you how much it energizes me to know they’re coming to City Church.
The new series we’re beginning this Sunday—Exploring Faith | Following Jesus—is ideal for the spiritually unresolved. Each Sunday from the Gospel of Mark we’ll reflect on who Jesus is and what it means to follow him. Please reach out and invite others beginning this Sunday.
The other kind of conversation I regularly have is with Christians who want to grow as a follower of Christ. These interactions fire my heart as a pastor. At City Church we’re trying to create an environment that encourages Christians to take seriously Jesus’ call to be his disciples, to love him more thoroughly and work out the implications of what it means to follow him faithfully in all of life. Our new series is designed to do just that.
See you Sunday! And thanks for inviting others to join you.
