What matters most? In a complex and rapidly changing world, overflowing with options and distractions, could there be a more important question—for every person and every church?
Beginning September 13, City Church’s new sermon series, What Matters Most, will explore questions at the heart of what it means to live a truly full life: What captivates and empowers us? What kind of people are we becoming, and how do others experience us? How can we live with humility and generosity—and make a lasting impact?
These same questions are central to the kind of church we aspire to be.
The answers are not found in trends, strategies, or branding ideas, but in enduring biblical realities rooted in God’s character and revealed most fully in Jesus. Christianity is not about keeping religious rules, adopting a political agenda, getting our lives perfectly in order, or having everything figured out. It is about knowing and experiencing the living God through Christ.
As we encounter God, become more deeply rooted in his love, pursue justice, and seek the flourishing of our neighbors, we are gradually changed. We become people marked by kindness and courage who reflect more of God’s compassion and hope in a fractured world.
