One of my young grandsons came running up to me and said, “Bombey, I know your favorite vegetable. It’s carrot cake with all the white dip!”
Well, carrot cake is my favorite, and carrots are vegetables but unfortunately carrot cake, especially with all the white dip aka icing, is not a vegetable. There is some truth in my grandson’s statement but not the complete truth. And certainly not truth I should act upon. 5 daily servings of carrot cake.. Yikes!
I fear we sometimes do the same thing regarding God. We cling to incomplete delicious truths that we desperately want to believe, but they may not be the full truth about God.
This is where a small group can help. The members of my group remind me that 67% or 2 out of 3 true statements do not make a solid truth, especially not a truth I should follow. The members of my City Group help me study and learn complete truths about God and his ways. In my City Group, I can also catch the enthusiasm of other members as they discover and delight in God’s character and truth.
City Groups are a fun yet meaningful way to explore your questions about God and truth. I would encourage you to look on the website to find a city church group that fits your schedule.
