Last month we learned that House of Blues has signed a contract with another church starting January 1. While it definitely caught us off guard, God had a plan and we are excited that starting in January, until we move to our permanent space, we will be worshipping at Saint Arnolds Brewing Company each Sunday at 10:30 am in their event space on the second floor.
As our team has processed this news, we have gotten really excited. This feels like our first real step toward the move — it’s happening! And in many ways, it’s fitting that we’re returning to Saint Arnold’s. It was the site of one of City Church’s very first large gatherings back in 2015, and we’ve held many events there since — most recently our 10-year anniversary celebration. This will be a sweet season for us to come together before we re-launch, and the beer garden right outside gives us a fun way to connect after church.
We’ll be sharing more details in the coming weeks, but I want to share a couple of dates right now. Our final service at House of Blues will be on Christmas Eve, December 24. Then we will take two Sundays off – December 28 and January 4 – and launch at Saint Arnolds on Sunday, January 11.
And of course there is the question everyone’s asking: when will we move to our permanent home? Right now, it looks like we’re on track for a February move-in. Please continue to pray for efficiency, wisdom, and safety as we get closer to the finish line.
