Lent Tools For Families

As we enter the Lenten season, I am making it a personal priority to reflect on Lent’s purpose in our lives as we engage the younger generation at City Church. My deepest hope for our children and students is that they will take advantage of the opportunity for spiritual renewal presented throughout this season, reflect on the beauty of the cross, and practice spiritual disciplines.

This is a fantastic time for children and students to begin their own spiritual journeys of learning to pause, listen and contemplate on Jesus’ sacrifice for us. One practical way to begin is by reading scripture together in your home. I encourage you to find a moment each week to follow along with the Tools for Knowing God sermon series and read the following scriptures (see chart below) and reflect on these spiritual disciplines with your family.

On Easter Sunday in City Kids, children will have the opportunity to rotate through different stations to remember and reflect on the promises kept by Jesus through the cross and his resurrection. I hope your family will join us this Easter, and invite friends to be a part of this special day.
