City Youth updates

Middle School Fall Weekend
This past weekend, our City Youth middle schoolers along with two other youth groups travelled to Stoney Creek Ranch in New Ulm, Texas, for a fall retreat. We brought 12 middle school girls and had such a wonderful time together. The weekend included times of worship, teaching on overcoming anxiety, and some meaningful moments to reflect on what we were learning together. The girls also had so much fun with a color war that ended in a shaving cream fight, ziplining into the lake, glow-in-the-dark capture the flag and s’mores at a bonfire. See a gallery of photos at the bottom of this post.

Exciting Staff Addition to City Youth
We are thrilled to welcome Anthony Lane to our youth staff.  Anthony is full time with Ozone, a ministry of Camp Ozark, and will be assisting our program. You can read more about Anthony on our staff bios page.

Upcoming Youth Events
BIBLE STUDY: Join us for the last few City Youth Bible studies of the semester on October 21, November 4 and November 11. We will meet at 1916 Swift Blvd. from 6:30-8 PM for an opportunity to gather for dinner, hang out with friends and study God’s word together.

MIDDLE SCHOOL LOCK IN: We are inviting our middle school students to the Houston Ozone Middle School Lock In. Come out to Dave & Buster's from 10 PM until 6 AM. There will be bowling, arcade games, raffles, competitions, late night snacks, and so much more. The lock in begins on Friday, November 30 (check-in from 10-11 PM) and lasts until until Saturday, December 1 (pick-up at 6 AM). You can register here.

SERVICE PROJECT: City Youth will have opportunity to partner with Kids’ Meals  for their Holiday Hope Program. Through this Adopt-A-Family Program, students will be able to provide a Christmas experience for a family who would otherwise not have one. We will send out a wish list in the next few weeks to youth families and on December 2 from 5 - 5:45 PM the youth will gather at 1003 Washington Ave (before the church-wide Prayer Gathering) to make Christmas cards and wrap the items together.

CHRISTMAS PARTY: We will wrap up the semester with our annual Christmas party on December 9. This will be a fun night for dinner and a white elephant gift exchange. Each student should bring a white elephant gift around $5 to $10.
